What do you do when your child wants to quit after only a few weeks of lessons?

If your child watches movies and television shows with exciting martial art action scenes, then they probably are very thrilled with the opportunity to learn Taekwondo. It sure looks easy in the movies, television and video games! The excitement of attending a real Taekwondo dojang diminishes quickly when faced with the demanding mental and physical exercises the instructor will have them doing. After a few classes, children with and unrealistic fascination with martial arts may need to find a new reason to come to the dojang. Speak to the instructor regarding how to motivate your child in a more appropriate manner. For those who train for many months, the successes and achievements during each class will replace the novelty and excitement of emulating the action heroes and video game characters. Over several months of attending the dojang regularly, your child will be able to accomplish many of the things that once seemed impossible to do at the beginning.

Will I learn to defend myself?

It's no secret that when people want to learn self-defense skills, they turn to the martial arts. And for good reason - the martial arts were created as a way for the average person to protect themselves and their loved ones against attack.

But here's something you may not know - some of the world's most elite military and police units practice martial arts for self-protection. The U.S. Army Rangers do jiu-jitsu; Navy Seals learn everything from kickboxing to Filipino weapons; the Korean ROK Marines practice Taekwon-Do; the Tokyo riot police train in aikido and karate; the Israeli defense forces train in krav maga, and the Chinese military does kung fu.

Of course, our programs aren't nearly as tough and rugged as the training that these elite units go through (and we promise that we won't make you do push-ups in the mud). But in our martial arts programs, you'll still be learning the same techniques they do.

Now, if martial arts training is good enough for police and soldiers who have to put their lives on the line every day - just think about what it will do for the safety and well-being of you and your family.
